We are seeking a dynamic, self motivated and creative individual for the position of senior level Electrical Engineer/Developer. The selected candidate will be responsible for driving the transition of new ideas from the "Technology" team into development platforms and ultimately into new products. This individual will be the main hardware interface between the Technology and Design Engineering groups and, in addition, will be called upon to lead some of the more challenging troubleshooting efforts during development. This position requires complete understanding of the products from the system architecture level through component level design. The ideal candidate will have a broad background and understand the process of product development from concept through development and into volume production. Key Responsibilities: Maintain familiarity with technology under investigation by the Technology team. Identify existing platforms to modify in order to prototype these new features. "Hands on" technical analysis, schematic capture, supervising PCB layout, prototyping, and troubleshooting of these new ideas. Transition proven new features to the Design Engineering team for integration into final products. Participate in system level design reviews. Be able to lead system level troubleshooting as well as component level troubleshooting efforts and failure analysis. Qualifications: BSEE with 10 plus years of experience required. In depth understanding of microprocessor architecture (ARM), memory devices (NAND, NOR, DDR2), display technologies (color LCD etc), interface technologies (USB, Ethernet, UART, SPI, I2C), power control circuitry, and analog design. Experience including embedded Linux, hardware security, smart cards, RFID, and PCB antennas is a plus. Skilled in engineering design, analysis, integration, debug, manufacturing, and documentation tools. Full working knowledge of common debug tools including scopes, logic analyzers, and emulators. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, collaborative skills, cross-functional interface skills, analytical skills and problem solving capabilities are essential. Ability to effectively present technical concepts, ideas and information in terms that both engineers and non-engineers can understand.
