JOB DESCRIPTION:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

- Structure item cost variables and associated 
materials and resources in Syteline using 
standardized process data and routing templates. 

- Execute system routines to compile item costs 
and evaluate production costs.

- Apply database utilities to analyze cost 
standards and actual cost data to identify items 
requiring costs adjustment and prepare batch 
updates.

- Organizes and manages a centralized cost 
estimating database and a formal process to 
support cost estimating to ensure historical 
data is utilized.

- Analyzes completed projects to compare 
estimated costs to actual costs and determine 
the reason for any discrepancies.

- Provides improvement recommendations to cost 
estimating procedures to reduce future 
discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.

- Identifies cost trends to assist management in 
cost reduction and process improvement efforts.

- Reviews data to determine material and labor 
requirements and prepares itemized lists.

- Computes cost factors and prepares estimates 
used for management purposes such as planning, 
organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; 
selecting vendors or subcontractor; and 
determining cost effectiveness.

- Conducts special studies to develop and 
establish standard hour and related cost data or 
effect cost reductions.

- Consults with clients, vendors, or other 
individuals to discuss and formulate estimates 
and resolve issues.

- Other duties as assigned


Qualifications: To perform this job 
successfully, an individual must be able to 
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Able 
to interpret and understand ANSI Y14.5 drawings 
and sketches. Proficient in use of Microsoft 
Word and Excel. Must be flexible, personable, 
and able to work closely with others on multiple 
concurrent projects. Prior experience performing 
cost data input and analysis, particularly 
purchasing, planning or estimating tasks in 
Syteline or a comparable manufacturing system 
preferred. Severe service valve materials, 
coatings, and manufacturing processes preferred.


Education / Experience: 

- Bachelors degree in industrial technology 
preferred.

- Able to interpret and understand ANSI Y14.5 
drawings and sketches. 


- Proficient in Crystal Reports, Microsoft 
Access, SQL, or similar database programs.


Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret 
documents such as safety rules, operating and 
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
Able to interpret and understand ANSI Y14.5 
drawings and sketches. Ability to write routine 
reports and correspondence. Ability to speak 
effectively before groups of customers or 
employees of organization.
