This person will apply industrial and/or mechanical engineering techniques in the development of work instruction documentation, process procedures, and tooling and fixturing. Provide manufacturing process support to manufacturing operations by developing efficient and cost effective methods and procedures, under the direction of the Manufacturing Management. This position is based in Orange, CA. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for the development of safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing processes and procedures with the support of the Engineering staff - Interface with Sales, Production, Quality and Training to coordinate the introduction of new products to production - Write and review Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) and work instructions and share them to the appropriate departments - Assure procedures and documents are within compliance of ISO-9001 - Develop of process layouts - Implement of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and conducts process capability studies on critical processes - Review of product design drawings - Design of tooling, fixturing and boards - Develop visual ads - Prepare labor, material, tooling and equipment cost estimates for proposals - Continually drive the utilization of advanced quality tools and techniques: Six Sigma, Effective Root Cause Analysis, Effective Use and Analysis of Data, and Lean Manufacturing - Perform time and motion studies - Participate and suggest cost reduction and process improvement initiatives - Work with design engineering to improve the manufacturability of our products - Implement the manufacture of new products or product lines with the emphasis on using the safest, most efficient process and lean manufacturing design - Support and lead continuous improvement efforts within and outside the responsible department PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: Expertise / Knowledge in: - Three (3) years of manufacturing experience in manufacturing cable assemblies or similar - Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001, and Six Sigma - Statistical Process Control - Lean tools such as but not limited to Kaizen, Quick Changeover, Poka-yoke, kanban, etc - Time motion studies - Line balancing - Raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods - Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction Skills in: - Excellent communication (oral & written), listening, and interpersonal - Leadership, motivational, and presentation skills - Planning, organizational and time management - Good judgment and decision making - Excellent in management of material resources - Effective in working both independently and in a team setting - Interact with all levels of the organization - PC: Word, Excel, Power Point, and MS Project - Attention to details and follow-up - Above average computer skills to enable incumbent to utilize database, spreadsheet, word processing programs, statistical and Computer Aided Drafting programs Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering or related discipline - Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone, or in a team environment with limited supervision - Acts in an ethical and truthful manner, leading by example and earning the respect and trust of co-workers, customers, and other stakeholders - Flexible and adaptive - Delivers commitments, producing work of the highest quality in a timely and effective manner. - Preferable to read and speak Spanish
