GENERAL JOB EXPECTATIONS · Lead new, relocation and remodel processes in relation to Store Experience and develop and define new procedures to enhance the current process. · Main liaison between Design & Development, Store Planning and Store Construction for the brand regarding execution of New, Relocations and Remodels along with Sunglass Hut Macy’s initiatives. · Ensure closed loop resolution of any new, relo or remodel product, graphic or visual supply issues by communicating resolution to the field. · Drives development of new merchandising props / tools to continuously improve the store experience. · Communicate and execute best practices in product flow, planograms, national programs, retail floor layout, and visuals. · Financial skills to manage develop cost projects and understand initiative results. · Travels 25% of time. · Lead and effectively work development projects with other groups in the company: Product Planning, Design & Development, Construction and Purchasing. · Exemplify corporate mission consistent with Core Values and Vision. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Lead All New, Relo and Remodels Stores as it Relates to Merchandising/ Marketing Communicate Merchandising strategies to Store Design to ensure consistent group execution of: - Store Front windows - Merchandising focuses and product positioning - Theme programs - Product Flow/ Planograms - Store floor layout - Brand Initiatives Analyze store execution of above and develop recommendations to Director of Merchandising and Store Design to continually improve methods. Review all Macy’s at Sunglass Hut and Hudson new, relo and remodel store plans to ensure the following: o Store capacity is within the range provided from Product Planning. o Each store is built to the guidelines set for that store design. o Each store is provided with a vehicle to communicate the Theme message. o Ensure store is built to provide the best store experience to the consumer Challenge Store Design to provide other choices when an element cannot be provided in the traditional form. Establish capacities and merchandising principles of new fixtures as they are introduced. Document new store designs and fixtures in the capacity calculator to ensure the Merchandising team is using the same calculations. Liason between Design & Development, Store Construction/Planning and Merchandising on all store design-related initiatives and concerns. Expert on Evoco, Store Design Library and other Store Design systems for the Merchandising Team. Reviews punch photos to ensure each store is built correctly. 2 Lead Brand Initiatives Relating to Store Experience Brand partner in development of all tools and store designs within the Sunglass Hut brand. Partners with Design & Development and Purchasing on all projects. Makes recommendations regarding new props and tools. Manages all aspects of store elements developed – from idea to rollout. 3. Develops strategies to increase consumer interest wall product placement · Makes Merchandising recommendations to increase storytelling. · Responsible for brand image update process management. · Participates in White Glove initiative 4. Financial Skills · Responsible for reconciling capital spend on Merchandising initiatives. · Responsible for brand AFE management. 5. Management Skills · Develop, manage and implement operational routines effectively and efficiently. · Employ a systematic approach in communication and meetings. · Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of field and CSC management. Must have a high degree of interpersonal skills. Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism. · Develop and support program responsibilities to designated timelines. · In depth knowledge of department processes, procedures, and systems. · Effectively manage multiple tasks to ensure all deadlines are met. · Have a keen attention to detail. · Exhibit resourcefulness in problem solving situations. 6. Market Understanding · Gain working knowledge of specialty retail market and trends, key competitors, merchandising trends, business and economic environment, retailing Best Practices. · Pattern “Best in Class” retailers to develop business strategies. · Develop in depth knowledge of Premium Sun Market and other retailers on Store Experience, Store Layout and Merchandising. 7. Training and Evaluation Train the Merchandising team on Evoco, Store Design Library and other systems as they relate to Store Design. Train the Merchandising and Operations team on implementation of new store designs and fixtures. Train my cross functional partners on Merchandising standards and fixture needs. Complete a professional development plan. · Attend career enhancement programs. COMMUNICATION WITH OTHERS 1.
