This position will lead our facility during sustainable implementation of a fundamentally sound Lean Program. The LMM will lead Continuous Improvement Projects as identified and developed from concept to completion while leading his/her staff in creating a Lean Culture. The role of the Lean Manufacturing Manager will be to concentrate primarily on removing waste & improving operational performance within a metal products manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have the proven skills & experience to reduce process setup, process variability, and waste. This individual will assist in developing operational metrics, collect & analyze data, and recommend root cause corrective actions. The LMM is accountable for leading CI activities throughout the plant and with our various product lines. Additionally, this individual may provide direction to other the Business Units in support of Lean objectives. Priorities are set by the Director of Operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Oversees or performs all aspects of project management that are specific to each CI project. - Facilitates, trains, and coaches Plant cross- functional teams - Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes - Confers with individuals in order to provide the best business-case regarding equipment purchases, modifications and improvements. - Must support all new product launch, engineering change, and EH&S activity - Adhere to and follows the facility Lean Manufacturing program and EH&S system requirements in business actions - Champions Lean activities across the company. - Determine job cost baselines and initiates cost reduction activities. QUALIFICATIONS: 3-5 + years experience in a Lean Manufacturing Manager role. BS degree in an engineering discipline required, Master degree preferred. Demonstrated Lean and Six Sigma experience required. Formal Lean training from an academic organization or via organizations with deep, well-established lean operating systems. ISO 9001 or 13485 familiarity is a must. Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, TS and ISO preferred. The ideal candidate will also possess the following characteristics: - Decisive, results driven leader and team player, capable of managing multiple projects - Able to operate at high energy levels and motivate those around him/her - Self motivated, objectives oriented.
