Job Description: 

The role holder will work closely with various 
key partners and customers to design, develop 
and debug application, middleware and driver 
level software for Renesas’s System On Chip 
devices. This individual will also need to have 
knowledge and experience developing device 
drivers for embedded Linux systems. The 
candidate should have experience in the area of 
2D/3D graphics, specifically OpenGL and should 
have knowledge of Android, QT and Webkit. 

The role holder is a senior level individual 
contributor and must be able to juggle multiple 
tasks and priorities, be responsive to solving 
customer problems, using disciplined methodology 
and collaborative software development 
practices. 

The role requires a strong technical knowledge 
and presence, with the ability and desire to 
work with and mentor a dynamic team comprised of 
individuals with varied skill sets and 
experience. This role will also require direct 
interaction with Renesas’s customers, so the 
individual must have advanced communication 
skills, demonstrate professionalism and business 
integrity and be able and willing to travel, 
domestically and internationally.


Desired Qualifications & Requirements: 

• BS in either Computer Science, Computer 
Engineering or Electrical Engineering 
• 8+ years of prior experience in embedded 
software development 
• Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux 
environments, embedded Linux highly desirable 
• Extensive knowledge of one or more of Android, 
WebKit, QT desirable 
• Extensive knowledge of 2D/3D graphics, OpenGL 
in particular 
• Experience in digital AV, video and audio 
codecs and media players 
• Experience in kernel device drivers. 
Experience with Linux/Unix open source 
developments and communities for kernel/device 
driver preferred. 
• Excellent software development (C, C++) and 
debugging skills
