questions, then you might be the right person 
for to fill our Technical Sales Engineer 
position.  This position is based in the NE or 
MW.


Role

 

Packaging and label technical sales engineer to 
accelerate growth trajectory of the business – 
primary role to assist in driving new sales in 
folding board and label applications 
Role focused on working with packaging & label 
sales team to assist printers/converters to 
achieve desirable results on our stocks, with 
immediate focus on folding carton applications.  
Key responsibilities for role include: 
–      Work with packaging and label 
printers/converters to achieve best in class 
results with NP products - with focus on driving 
significant growth in these segments as well as 
protecting and trouble-shooting issues with 
existing business

–      Provide insights and feedback from label 
and folding carton converters, working with R&D 
and Marketing, to assist in successful 
development of  enhancements to our current 
packaging & label products as well as new 
products/solutions

–      Work closely with the Director of Sales 
and Packaging & Label sales team to identify and 
qualify potential packaging & label target 
customers, developing new and strengthening 
existing relationships with key converters and 
target/a customers.  Extension of sales team, 
working with customers with or without the sales 
person’s direct involvement.

–      Work closely with Director of Sales of 
P&L team to optimize the go to market strategy 
associated with existing and new product 
offerings

–      Provide internal & external training 
regarding technical trends, challenges, etc. and 
best usage of NP packaging & label products
 
Requirements 
Background

Has track record of solid career progression; 
exceeding expectations whenever possible 
Background in Packaging or Label 
Printer/Converter segment. Experience in folding 
carton printer/converter segment or label 
printing/converting segment – folding carton 
experience a plus 
Has not been in the industry so long as to 
accept status quo 
Comfortable working with all levels of a 
printer/converter and  corporate end customers – 
e.g. pressmen, sales, estimating, packaging 
designers, brand managers, etc.  Just as 
comfortable  on the pressroom floor as in a 
corporate office.  May have started out as a 
pressman and then worked up through to sales or 
management.  May have even owned their own shop. 
Strong technical printing and converting 
technical knowledge  working with various 
folding board substrates and printing techniques 
such as offset, digital, foil stamping, 
embossing, die cutting, laminating including to 
non-paper substrates, etc.  Experience with 
label printing and bottling lines a plus.

Highly motivated, self starter who is hungry and 
thrives on change 
Key competencies:  Strong technical knowledge of 
printer and packaging converting, Various 
printing processes, Analysis, Decisiveness, 
Innovation 
Strong selling skills and presence that would 
help support the sales team as they drive 
business, both at the converter and the end user 
level.  Takes feedback well from the sales 
organization, but doesn’t atomically say “yes" 
to what they’re asking for…
