About the Job
A fast growing manufacturer of specialty chemical, mechanical and 
electrical 
products located in Northwest Houston is seeking a Mechanical Design 
Engineer to 
design consumer products. 



Education  

·         4 year BSME degree required (ABET accredited)

·         PE preferred



Skills

·         Small plastic, metal and electrical components and design

·         Engineering drafting

·         Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection 
molding and metal 
working

·         Knowledge of quality control 

·         Programming

·         Good technical writing skills

·         Must be able to work and think independently

·         Good interpersonal skill



Software Requirements

·         MS Office 

·         Very strong SolidWorks skills, including simulation



Experience Requirements 

3-7 years experience in at least two of these areas:

·         Small circulator pumps

·         Small electromechanical devices

·         Small plastic components

·         Construction related products

·         HVAC products



Duties:

·         Product design, project management, costing, and timeline 
management  

·         Evaluate products through computer simulation and (or) 
physical experiments

·         Define manufacturing methods and equipment.  

·         Prepare specifications.  

·         Direct projects to completion 

·         Maintain ongoing design-quality audits after handoff
